I don’t know why but now I can’t open the page for posting new articles without proxy. Once I heard that WP would be banned in mainland China when I tried to recommend this website to someone. At that time I was still feeling uncertain but with the experience these days… I only can say: “It may happen.”

I’m a guy who doesn’t care too much about politics. But even I can vaguely aware that the restriction in mainland China nowadays becomes even harder. I begin to get a growing sense of uneasy, not only for the more and more strict censorship and restriction but also for the actual public opinion. Now there still is an incredible number of Chinese citizens who are stranding at only a step away from the border, but the only thing they can do is nothing but keep waiting. They are not allowed to pass, or even worse: the Chinese ambassador to Russia once announced to those Chinese citizens who were not allowed to pass the border between Russia and China that they should return to Moscow to take a plane instead. Put the quite distance from northeastern China to Moscow aside, now the ticket for a flight to China is like a lottery at an incredible price. I don’t know Russia, but in Spain, I spent about 3388$ for just one seat (economic) which the Chinese government had spared to me. I heard that now in the US a ticket for going back home is about 8000$. It’s a lot of money for the majority of the Chinese outside to afford, not to mention that for the overseas Chinese, they don’t even be given a chance to pay although they have already prepared the money. Maybe because I’m a student, it’s very easy for me and my friends to get a place on the flight.

However, at this moment, many people, Chinese people, on the Internet are just shouting that these Chinese who “intend” to go home are nothing but a bunch of “absolute sinners” for personally they didn’t once take part in the construction of the motherland but now “order” the Chinese government to pick them back. Gosh how can they say words like that?! They are our compatriots!

I’m not complaining. I’ve experienced the whole process from registering with the Chinese Embassy to finish the quarantine in Nanjing and for I say our government has done a really good job. Now I can feel free to hang outside but don’t even need to worry about the virus. Just… some words and behaviors from some of our officials are just disappointing. Never abandoning our compatriots is their irrefutable job and duty. And words to some trolls on the internet: be mature, cus you guys look as retarded as those so-called “Trump supporters” in your imagination.
