I bought some accessories days ago, which are a Picatinny strip rail for the air carbine of Gamo, a Picatinny rail adapted on the 11mm rail, 2 mounting rings for the scope adapted the Picatinny rail, and a scope-mounting weaver adapted 11mm rail. I installed the Picatinny strip rail and the rings on my Gamo carbine to fix the scope. It looks stable but… still needs to be tested in shooting range.
I bought these accessories because the original 11mm rail has been proved that it couldn’t work with the scope. When I was shooting, the scope kept sliding back even the screw which I pulled up couldn’t stop it. I tried, even those screws are a little broken. I gave it up and finally decided to turn to the Picatinny system. To tell the truth, the Picatinny really is more comfortable than those screws things. At least I don’t need to worry about breaking the screws during mounting and dismounting the scope, which can make it easier to clean the gun.
Actually, before, I thought that the original strip rail of my Gamo carbine may be reused on my old Norica carbine. But I was wrong. Their widths are consistent, but the length and the size of the fixing screws are different, which makes the rail of Gamo carbine can’t be replaced on the Norica carbine. In this situation, if I want to shoot my old airgun in the 25m range with a scope, I may need to consult the gunshop for the rail system. Really, maybe the Gamo HPA is more tactical and multifunctional, I still think that the Norica one is better for the 25m/50m range for its longer barrel and higher speed.
